During a three week period in June of 2014, I retired from teaching, buried my younger brother, bought a new home between Xenia and Yellow Springs, and was building an in-law suite there for my mother who had Alzheimer’s. So, when presented with the opportunity to hang out with three good friends at Cumberland Lake for a few days in early July, I jumped at it. While there, we decided to take a raft trip on the Cumberland from the falls itself, and what fun it was! Though not a difficult river from a technical standpoint, its beauty and and a handful of class III rapids more than kept our interest. Here are a few pictures from that little trip.
