Designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, Fallingwater is regarded as one of America’s most important architectural sites. The home, designed in 1935+ for Pittsburgh businessman Edgar Kaufmann as a summer and weekend residence, was constructed over a Bear Run waterfall instead of below it. Today, visitors from all over the world visit southwestern Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands to view Wright’s masterpiece — and another Wright house, Kentuck Knob, which is a mere seven miles away.
