Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs maintains a smallish area of truly spectacular sandstone towers backed by always snow-capped Pikes Peak. Short hikes through and around the formations allow for lots of picture taking — and then you can have snack or lunch at the glass-enclosed Bean Sprout Cafe at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center.
