The Pearl Harbor National Memorial on the island of Oahu in Hawai’i commemorates one of the darkest days in American history, the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. A boat trip to the USS Arizona Memorial is preceded by a documentary film about that December 7th day. Other interpretive exhibits (including the Remembrance Circle) explain the historical significance of the event and connect it today. The Arizona Memorial itself is a powerful reminder of the day’s horror.
