Oakes Quarry Park is part of the Beaver Creek Wetlands Association and a former limestone quarry site. A two mile perimeter trail is well-maintained, though many people enjoy searching the quarry’s floor for fossils from the shallow sea that once existed here. In addition, evidence of the last glacial age abound on the periphery of the excavation area. This is cute little park that is perfect for a two hour excursion away from the world.
