After this most recent killing of nine-year-olds in a Nashville Christian school (with the shadow of Uvalde still looming), I’ll just say it clearly without any runup. Republican lawmakers — across the country enmasse — don’t love children. How can you explain Congressional anger and outrage about cat videos and dance challenges on Chinese-owned TikTok — even talk of banning — when those same politicians refuse to take up any serious gun safety legislation, including an assault weapons ban. Republicans are apparently more concerned that Chinese Nationals are surveilling American citizens — to find out that we love cat videos and dance challenges — than they are with children dying in elementary schools. Shame on all of you!! With Republicans in charge, we won’t have to worry about the Chinese. We’ll just keep killing ourselves.
