I once considered retiring to northern Arizona, to the Sedona or Flagstaff areas, and even dragged my wife out there in 2003 to “look around.” I drove out to the region while she flew into Phoenix, and unfortunately, we picked one of the hottest summers on record. In fact, large wildfires were raging in the hills above both Phoenix and Tucson, so I suppose any chances of retirement to Arizona were dashed before she deplaned. But we thoroughly enjoyed our little jaunt around Arizona and Utah (taking in the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, Canyon de Chelly, and numerous important archeological sites). These are photographs taken around the Sedona area, in particular Red Rock State Park. It certainly is a beautiful, even spiritual, place.
