Shame on you, Donald Trump. And no, I will not use the moniker “President” with your name, not now, not ever again. For four plus years, you have tried your best to shatter norms, to dismiss political decorum, to “drain the swamp.” You have denigrated foreign allies, contested the bravery of past and present American soldiers, disparaged ethnic groups, and ridiculed women, even bragging that because of your celebrity status, you could “(g)rab them by the pussy. You can do anything you want.” You have attacked members of your own party and people who have worked for you in your private and presidential endeavors, some whom you may even have called friends.
But now, you have incited insurrection.
It is bad enough that you have continued questioning the results of the election with bogus allegations, conspiracy theories, and outright lies. It is bad enough that elected “leaders” from your party have followed you down this treacherous path, into this traitorous rabbit hole. It is bad enough that some of them were even challenging those state-ratified results today during a joint session of Congress that had gathered to certify the election of Joe Biden, a day that typically celebrates, in our exclusive American way, the peaceful transfer of power – an act the rest of the world recognizes with reverence as uniquely American.
But insurrection is a bridge too far.
You were a second-rate television “star” on a bad reality show. You were, and still are, a terrible businessman, a brander, shyster, and huckster, not a builder. You are – now “were” – the worst president in the history of our Republic. But, remarkably worse than all of that, you have now proven what some of us have assumed, that you truly are un-American at heart. You truly are a reckless, selfish, egotistical, self-serving, narcissistic, unpatriotic ass.
And, I now call for your arrest.
Under The Code of Laws of the United States of America, the official compilation and codification of the general and permanent federal statutes of the United States, you have perpetrated the following crimes against the American government (and people) according to Title 18 (Crimes and Criminal Procedure), Chapter 115 (Treason, Sedition, and Subversive Activities):
§ 2383. Rebellion or insurrection: Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
§ 2384. Seditious conspiracy: If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
Donald Trump, you are a threat to our national security, and your presidency needs to end now.
